Diving in Maldivian waters at night with lights is a thrilling and uniquely wonderful experience. As the sun sets, the corals open up like the buds of a flower and their flower-like tentacles. Coral inhabitants such as spiders and shrimps leave their tubular sponges to search for food and moray eels, along with the other nocturnal predators, prowl the deep, dark depths. At night the visibility is reduced to the narrow tunnel of light from your torch and bumping into sea creatures foraging by moonlight may be unnerving for some.
